County Kerry, known as The Kingdom, is one of Ireland's most popular holiday destinations, and it is not hard to see why. The combination of majestic mountains, sparkling lakes and golden beaches make Kerry the perfect location for a memorable holiday. The spectacular Ring of Kerry, the Lakes of Killarney and Muckross House and Gardens are renowned the world over and all are within a 45 minute drive from Kerry Gable Cottage. The Dingle Peninsula is the most northerly of the hilly promontories of County Kerry. Within its small compass it is home to more interesting antiquities, historic sites and varied mountain scenery than any other part of Ireland. While the Peninsula offers a great range of conventional holiday attractions, folk customs, crafts and lore are still very much alive in the area. The charming fishing village of Dingle is just a short drive away from Kerry Gable Cottage via Ireland's highest mountain pass, the spectacular Conor Pass. The town of Tralee, Kerry's main town, is just 20 minutes drive and offers a wide range of shops, including supermarkets and department stores. |
